PART 1: The New Birth — Entering God’s Family

Scripture Reference: John 3:1–7; 1:33

The Gospel is good news by itself. It does not need embellishment to make it appealing. When a man is taught, the God he is presented determines the God he will serve.

Jesus made it clear: you must be born again to enter God’s family.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

A natural man is born of the flesh. A believer is born of the Spirit. This new birth is not symbolic; it is real. It is a transition from natural life into spiritual life.

In Epistle to the Romans 8:1–6, Paul explains that the believer minds the things of the Spirit. He becomes conscious, interested, and zealous about spiritual realities.

Ignorance does not cancel consequences. A believer who is ignorant of the life he has received will not see it fully expressed.

If a man is in the flesh, nothing he does can please God. But if a man is in the Spirit, God is pleased with him—not because of performance, but because he has accepted God’s provision of salvation.

The man in the Spirit has acknowledged that he cannot save himself. He accepts forgiveness of sins. He accepts God’s opportunity. That is salvation.

Jesus said signs will follow those who believe. When John declared that Christ would baptize with the Holy Ghost, it meant something reactive would happen. When the Spirit comes, your life cannot remain the same.

No one sees the wind, but its effects are visible. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. The Spirit produces visible impact—actions, transformations, boldness, assurance.

There is no restriction in the flow of the Spirit. Everyone can participate. Everyone can enjoy. Everyone can manifest as much as they desire.

The life of God becomes active in you as you are conscious of it. If you are born of the Spirit yet neglect meditation and awareness, that life will not find expression.

You are not normal. You are influenced by God. God can speak to you.

The things of the Spirit may appear foolish to natural intellect. A man may be intelligent in the natural and yet lack faith, because spiritual realities transcend human reasoning.

In Epistle to the Romans 8:6–8, and Book of Ezekiel 36:25, the effect of the Spirit is cleansing, renewal, peace.

The Gospel brings peace and assurance.

In Book of Isaiah 32:15, the Spirit produces quietness and confidence.

A man in the flesh is subject to darkness. He can be influenced, used, or afflicted by the enemy. But the man born of the Spirit carries God’s glory within.

In Book of Zechariah 2:1–5, God promises a people filled with His glory beyond measure. He desires many to be filled with His Spirit.

In Book of Zechariah 8:9, He says, “Let your hands be strong.” For prophecies to come to pass, His instruments must be strong.

God works through men. If God desires people saved, the vessel is you.

God cannot afford to lose one man.

Confessions

I have the Holy Ghost working in me, quickening me every time.
I have supernatural effect as the Spirit desires.
I am hungry to manifest the flow of the Spirit.
My desires are propelled by the Spirit of God.
I walk in the Spirit actively and consciously every day.

PART 2: Being Spiritual — Walking in Love

Scripture Reference:

First Epistle to the Corinthians 12:31; 13:13; 14:1

Every spiritual activity must be anchored in something. Paul says to covet spiritual gifts, to desire them earnestly. Why?

Because of love.

Love is the most excellent way. If a believer refuses to grow spiritually, it affects others. Growth is not self-centered. It is motivated by love for both the saved and the unsaved.

When Jesus said He would go and come again, He left one location to multiply Himself in every believer through the Spirit. Wherever believers are, Jesus is present.

If I carry Jesus and do not allow Him to express Himself through me, I hinder His love from reaching others.

God desires to express Himself through men. When a man is not sensitive to the Spirit’s leading, he can hinder another from being blessed.

Most errors occur because people refuse to yield to the flow of the Spirit.

In Acts of the Apostles 9:1–2, we see how powerful the expression of Christ in believers had become. Jesus identifies with those born of the Spirit. He sees them as Himself.

Jesus sees me as Himself.

Out of God’s love for man, He made provision even in desperate situations. In the wilderness, when fiery serpents attacked Israel, God provided a solution through Moses lifting up the serpent.

This pointed to Christ.

In Gospel of John 3:14–16, just as Moses lifted up the serpent, so the Son of Man was lifted up.

The lifting up of the Son is the expression of God loving the world.

Whether people accept Him or not does not change His motive. Dying for humanity was not based on human response. It was pure giving.

In First Epistle of John 4:19–20, we love because He first loved us. But we prove our love for God through our love for people.

We cannot express love to God directly. We express it to others.

Love for believers. Love for unbelievers.

God’s love is unconditional. In Gospel of Luke 23:33, Jesus forgave at the cross. In Acts of the Apostles 7:54–60, Stephen forgave while being stoned.

Where love is present, forgiveness flows abundantly.

The motive for desiring spiritual gifts, for prophesying, for growing spiritually, is selfless love.

PART 3: The Character of God Expressed Through Us

The Gospel is receiving Jesus. The moment a man receives Jesus, he has seen God.

When God revealed Himself to Moses in Book of Exodus 34:1–6, He described Himself as merciful, gracious, longsuffering, slow to anger, abundant in goodness and truth.

If we say we love God, and we prove that love through others, then these attributes must define us.

We are merciful.
We are gracious.
We are slow to anger.
We are kind.
We forgive.

The Christian walk is not about self-preservation. It is about expressing the love of God to humanity.

Spiritual growth without love is emptiness.

The Spirit within us desires expression. God wants to bless through men. The reason we grow, pray, covet spiritual gifts, and pursue maturity is so that love can flow freely.

Confessions

I am a love being.
I am gracious.
I am merciful.
I am slow to anger.
I am kind.
I forgive freely because I carry the love of God.

Salvation makes you spiritual.
Being spiritual means walking in love.
Walking in love is expressing God to the world.
